Hawaii Act 104 Compliant

Goodspread Sunscreen is fully compliant with Hawaii Act 104, a landmark regulation that prohibits the sale of sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate—two chemical UV filters shown to cause significant harm to coral reefs and marine ecosystems. This legislation was enacted to help preserve Hawaii's fragile marine environments, and we proudly align our formulations with its intent by avoiding these harmful ingredients. Instead, we use non-nano zinc oxide, a mineral-based UV filter that provides safe, broad-spectrum sun protection without compromising the health of our oceans.

We also recognize that the sunscreen industry is constantly evolving, with new research and environmental policies continuing to shape ingredient safety standards. Other chemical UV filters, such as octocrylene or avobenzone, are already under scrutiny in various parts of the world, and it’s likely that more ingredients will be regulated or banned in the future. At Goodspread, we are committed to staying ahead of these changes. We continuously monitor emerging science and global regulations to ensure our products remain both effective and environmentally responsible. As the landscape shifts, we’ll continue to evolve our formulas to uphold our promise of safe skin protection and sustainability.
